An
addition to this metal parts manufacturing facility was
required because of a new German press and its attendant
overhead crane were not able to fit within the existing
structure. A new structure was designed to be in keeping
with the original building as required by the city, and
yet provide the necessary clearances for the new equipment
and crane. New wood bowstring trusses were created
along with high windows for natural light and ventilation.
The existing roof and skylight were removed as necessary.
Exterior corrugated metal skin provides an appropriate
as well as cost effective means of enclosure
