This
design was for a loose “replica” of the original
1916 Jewel Tea Company building, on 43rd Street in Chicago.
This structure was planned for the Barrington Area Historical
Society as part of an interactive Visitor’s Center.
The Visitor's Center includes a blacksmith shop, part
of whose structure was relocated from the Barrington City
Hall. The Jewel Tea Company moved its headquarters to
Barrington in 1930 and was a major employer for many years.
