BATAVIA CONGREGATIONAL

Historical Renovation

When the roof trusses of this 150-year-old church were found to be failing, immediate action had to be taken to stabilize the building and prevent further damage to the structure. After the initial stabilization Allen+Pepa Architects was hired to orchestrate the repair and renovation efforts. In addition to the new roof, the renovation included a new arched plaster ceiling, new paint and floor finishes and new curved pews. An acoustician was consulted to help pick materials that would best serve the acoustics of the space.
