WATER STREET TRIPLEX

This speculative project was proposed for a site in Batavia, IL with the idea of raising everyone’s expectations regarding low energy housing.  Utilizing a secondary heavily sloping site, we have proposed stepped sun-loving houses that will be heavily insulated using 8” thick insulated walls and 12” thick insulated roof structure, resulting in homes that requires very little energy to heat and cool. Each proposed townhouse would be 1,680 sq. ft-small but comfortable-and features high sloped ceilings with exposed wood beams on the interior.
