The owners of the Mexican / American grocery store El Paso Grande hired Allen + Pepa to design the remodel of a former Aldi grocery store into their third location in Aurora. Offering a unique combination of fresh produce, butchered meats, pantry staples, and hot, fresh-made meals for pick-up and delivery, El Paso Grande sought to use this new location to expand their production of fresh hand-made tortillas. These needs required a kitchen, tortilla production area, and a large, refrigerated storage area be added to the building. Allen + Pepa worked closely with Axis Designs on the kitchen equipment layout and, with the help of our mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers, we reverse engineered the building’s systems to accommodate the client’s needs. This new store expands El Paso Grande’s markets to the west side of Aurora and serves its community with fresh and affordable food.
